Ollie Norris – Printmaker

Ollie Norris is an artist-printmaker from Lancashire, currently based in London. His practice is grounded in the dialogue between memory and landscape, exploring how the natural world can become a vessel for grief and remembrance. Drawing deeply on the ancient sites of the North West and East Anglia, and the architecture and grandeur of London, his work navigates the thresholds between place and emotion, the Earth and sky.

Working primarily in intaglio and monoprint media, Norris’ process is slow, meditative, and tactile. His surfaces are built through repetition, abrasion, and the gradual excavation of light from darkness. Ollie invites the viewer to stand at his shoulder, and feel the salt in the air, while the tides roll in. The techniques that he employs not only demand a high level of skill and precision but also evoke a sense of intimacy and authenticity in his work. The use of traditional methods is paramount in his practice, allowing him to produce hand-drawn images and painstakingly crafted prints that showcase a more human side of art. His creations reflect the intricacies of the processes he employs, making each artwork a testament to his dedication and passion for printmaking.
